This is cute. I hope the woman was an actress who was in on this. If I found someone did this to me at a store I would sue. You are without legal authority intentionally preventing someone leaving the property. It also looks like you hit the car at one point which is also obviously illegal. Maybe she is just lazy or inconsiderate, but you don't know everyone's story. I for example have severe arthritis in most of my joints. I rarely get out, but when I do I don't always know how the excursion is going to affect me. Most of the time I am fine. Some times I have a flare up literally while I'm in a store. On some occasions. I have abandoned my cart 1/2 full of intended purchases and just try to make it back to my car and get home safely. On other occasions I was close enough I managed to finish my purchasing and get to the car, by which point it feels like someone has been hammering on my ankles with a bat for that past few minutes. Still I didn't want to just abandon a cart 1/2 full of product just to go home and order it making the store go to all that extra work over my disability. So yes, on some occasions, I have managed to get my stuff in the car and put the cart literally anywhere I can, especially if the nearest cart return is over 100 feet round trip in many situations. That 100 feet might as well be 100 miles. To the outside observer this might seem like I'm just an inconsiderate jerk when really I did the most considerate thing I could under the circumstances. I didn't leave it in a parking spot. I did purchase dozens if not hundreds of dollars of product from the store. I certainly don't deserve to be vilified because on occasion I am unable to get the cart back to a designated drop off location. I certainly don't deserve to be illegally detained or have my vehicle vandalized for it. So if this wasn't a staged skit, you might consider this before you find a victim with a legitimate reason and a moral disposition that will force them to pursue legal action. You might also consider that when someone comes to your store and buys $100 worth of product from you, that the least you could do to show your appreciating is make sure they get to their care ok and don't have to fight with a cart.

People who really think that people that don’t put their shopping cart away shows what kind of moral person they are cracks me up 😂🤦‍♀️ so sometimes people don’t put their cart away get over it. I’ve been guilty of the same thing. Most of the time I will, but if that damn shopping return shopping cart is super far, I’m good😂😂.

I never put my shopping cart up because of people like this. I found this video of this guy who would put stickers on people's car and harass them in the parking lot. I haven't put up one shopping cart since then. Mind your business you Karen's.

I put my carts away ... it's just a polite thing to do ! Funny (?) side story-- MANY years ago, I parked my First New Car away from the 'crowd' [ hey, it was MY new Baby ! And, I was young & stupit !] I put my cart in the corral and started the trek to my car. Suddenly, I'm watching a solo cart PASS me and ROLL right into my baby's fender !! 😮 [ MINOR blue smudge from the blue, plastic cart ] From MY over-reaction, of course, you woulda thought it was a CATASTROPHIC COLLISON, and my car was TOTALLED !!😢 LESSON LEARNED! 😅😅

The Grocery store near me has a cart stall in every parking area’s center. That way, it’s more accessible and encourages shoppers to return carts, making it accessible to their store workers. The truth is, if it is far, shoppers won't most likely return it. I try to return it when I can, but sometimes, people are in a rush. However, the lady neglecting the cart as it rolled down away is questionable.

Make cart rental an amount that will encourage the majority to put carts back or at the very least create a secondary market that will gather the carts. Start at $5 which you get back when you return the cart. If you are too lazy to do it, then someone else will begin waiting around to collect the carts and the $5 return fee. If at the end of a month you see a return rate of less than 95% than up the fee by a dollar and continue to adjust the rate every month until you get the 95% rate.

Oh my goodness, I almost got in a fight with a huge 6 foot 4 Amazon woman because my mother saw someone do that and she jumped out of her car and put the cart in the cart deal that was not even 10 steps away because my mom thought it was ridiculous that the lady pushed it in a parking spot..the lady heard and saw cuz mom isn’t quiet 😂 so I had to jump in between them 😂😅
